The Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery program is a 2-year program leading to a diploma in Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery.

The A.N.M. program aims to prepare skilled health workers to work in both urban and rural communities to improve India’s health system and health status.

Course Purpose

The purpose of the ANM/FHW course is to prepare an ANM to function at the community/village level with specific skills to meet the community’s health needs. She will be an active link between the community and the health system.

After successful completion of the ANM program and obtaining the necessary licensure, graduates can pursue a variety of career opportunities in healthcare settings, including

Community Health Worker: ANMs can work as community health workers, providing basic health services, health education, and disease prevention initiatives in rural and underserved communities.

Maternity Nurse: With specialized training in maternal and child health, ANM graduates can work as maternity nurses in hospitals, maternity clinics, and birthing centers, providing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to mothers and newborns.
